Fruitful Allegory

Every opportunity has a ripening period—much like fruit.

If you miss one, it’s okay—you’re still in season depending on the fecundity of the plant and the abundance of its population in a particular region. Sometimes we taste one too soon and it’s sour. Or too late and its sweet balance is lost to fermentation and rot. Then we pick and taste a new one—there! That’s much better.

And don’t forget—you can also commit to the long-haul by cultivating the plant itself so that you’ll be ready for the next harvest with opportunities of your facilitation. Perhaps you’ll share your labors and fruits with others to sweat and celebrate by your side as well.

(These huckleberries from the Michigan Upper Peninsula were picked and pied by a friend)
