Insomnia to Insight: What is your most precious possession?
How has your sleep been lately?
✨ Note: Non-members can read the full story in this link.
I suffered from insomnia yesterday, so I got up early this morning and began to ponder the topic for my article today.
My wife came over, poured me a cup of tea, and asked what was wrong last night that kept me awake.
“I had insomnia last night, for some unknown reason,” I replied.
“Is it because you’ve been under a bit of work pressure lately? I’ve noticed you’ve looked rather pale recently,” my wife inquired.
I have to admit, some work-related matters in the past few days have made me quite anxious.
“Let’s go, I’ll join you for a run outside to relax,” and with that, she took my hand and led me to the nearby park for an early morning jog.
After the jog, I found that my mental state had improved significantly, and I think I’ll be able to sleep well tonight.
I believe I’ve found the topic for the article I want to write today.
We’ve all been asked this question:
“What is your most precious possession?”
Knowledge, wealth, or health. These three are perhaps the most discussed, and of course, there’s also family.
I believe most people would choose health, right?
Because to possess knowledge and wealth, you need a healthy body as the carrier.
Otherwise, knowledge representing spiritual life and wealth representing material life would be out of the question.
I used to be the type of person who worked tirelessly, thinking that making money was my goal until one day when I found many abnormal indicators after a physical examination, I realized that what I truly wanted was not money, but health.
Even the most ambitious goals are hard to achieve without health.
It’s like trying to light a wet match; it will never succeed.
However, we often neglect our health, pushing ourselves to the limit, working overtime, staying up late, and surviving on coffee and fast food.
Many great historical figures had a vigorous vitality, a powerful life force from within them.
What is this force?
It’s the spirit that kept Napoleon in the saddle for 24 hours straight, the perseverance that let Benjamin Franklin camp outdoors at 70.
In today’s fast-paced world, we can see many cases of sacrificing health for success.
We work late, feel exhausted, and often neglect our bodies.
We trade health for money before 40 and money for health after 40.
We need to have the courage to challenge this very familiar way of thinking.
What if we could find a balance?
What if we could work happily every day without losing our health?
A morning run that energizes me, a healthy and delicious home-cooked meal, and a picnic in the park with my family, appreciating nature — these small moments in life can often have a significant impact.
Health is a journey, a commitment, and something we must pay attention to every day.
So, dear friends, what are your personal experiences with health?
What foods or lifestyles have you found to be beneficial?
I would love to hear your stories.
