Jammu & Kashmir are described as “Heaven of the Earth” by a poet. “Srinagar” is the largest and the summer capital of Jammu & Kashmir. It is situated on the banks of Jhelum River, a tributary of the Indus, and Dal and Anchar Lakes. It is famous for its gardens, houseboats and Kashmiri handicrafts.

“Dal Lake” is called “jewel in the crown of the Kashmir” or “jewel of Srinagar “. The lake encompasses by a boulevard lined of Mughal Era Gardens such as Shalimar Bagh, Nishant Bagh built during the reign of Mughal Emperor Jahangir. The scenic views of lake houseboats, parks can be captured from the Mughal gardens. You must take on a Shikara in Dal Lake cruising along with house boats.

Nigeen Lake some time considered as a part of Dal Lake. It is in the west of Dal Lake and located adjacent to the Hari Parbhat hillock. This lake is surrounded by a large number of willow and poplar trees. Hence, it is referred as “nageena” “the jewel in the ring”.

Nishant Bagh is designed and built by Asif Khan, elder brother of Noorjahan. It is a terraced Mughal garden. It is situated on the eastern side of Dal Lake and second largest garden in the Kashmir valley.
The Shalimar garden is the largest garden. It was built by the Mughal Emperor Jahangir for his wife Noorjahan. Its other names are Shalimar Bagh, Farah Baksh and Faiz Baksh. It consists of Diwan-e –aam, Diwane- e- Khaas, Bardari. It is built as royal forts. But the garden has scenic views it has lush greenery and fountains along with marble structure forms.
These gardens a have beautiful sight of mughal era. The architecture is formed a royalty.

Roza BAL or Rauza Bal the name of shrine situated in Khanyar quarter downtown area of Srinagar. It is a holy place of the city, related to some historical believes.

The Sher Garhi Palace was the residence of Maharajas of Dogra dynasty. The palace is situated on the southern banks of the Jhelum River. Gulab Bhawan was also the primary residence of Maharaja of Dogra dynasty.
Hari Parbhat, Shankaracharya temple and Jama Masjid are religious and historical places along many others.

The famous local food of Kashmir is dum aloo, rogan josh, yakhiyn, hakh, and danival korme.if you are looking for non-vegetarian cuisine then try these local cuisine you will love these. The Kashmiris uses two kind of tea Noon chai which is in pink colour and black tea. The kahwa is a special tea for festive occasions.
