Belonging
During the last few weeks we shared stories with you as a potential HOLIS participant. We told you how much does it really cost to organise HOLIS so you would see that your participation fee covers only a part of the costs. We explained what will you learn at HOLIS so you can decide if it’s for you or not and if your company’s training budget can be used to cover your participation fee. You could read about how HOLIS participants experienced the summer school. And finally we’ve let you know why we extended our application deadline. And we sent you hot links about topics that are relevant and useful in terms of social innovation, organisational design and collaboration.
With all this we wanted to help you decide if HOLIS is for you and of course to make you say “yes” more easily :). Now as we get close to the final application deadline on 21 May (that’s right, this is your last chance to apply) we have one more reason for you to apply. Belonging.
When I made an interview with Richard Bartlett (one of our advisory board members) I asked him about the value Enspiral brings to its members. His answer was without hesitation: belonging.
“The main value is belonging. Being a member of a really deeply committed, actively and mutually supportive tribe. This is a fundamental need everyone has. For me the easiest way to connect with someone is to work on something. But the priority is well being. If you are super stressed, we either pause and go for a walk, or other will help you out.”
This is a strong value of HOLIS as well. HOLIS is not just an annual interdisciplinary summer school. HOLIS is a community of people who sees interdisciplinary collaboration as a tool for making a positive social and environmental impact. This year we started our annual HOLIS alumni retreat program where we get together in a relaxing environment and hike, eat, have fun together while share information, contacts, know-how that helps you get further in your project, carrier, life.

Your power in spreading the news is enormous. Nothing compares to a personal recommendation. This is why we rely on you to get to the right people.
