You may be suffering from Dysbiosis

Dysbiosis is a term used to describe an imbalance in the microflora of the gastrointestinal tract, where a number of organisms begin to overgrow leading to a variety of symptoms.

When there become a greater number of organisms that can cause problems, then the normal organisms in the gastrointestinal tract, the person is considered to have dysbiosis.

One of the most common organisms is Candida albicans, commonly known as yeast.

What are the Symptoms?

The symptoms of dysbosis include both local and systematic problems, such as

  • Excess gas,
  • Bloating
  • Abdominal cramping,
  • Frequent indigestion
  • Joint soreness
  • Frequent headaches

Why does this occur?

· Dysbiosis occurs after one or more courses of broad-spectrum antibiotics

· The influence of the Western diet, which is high in sugar and processed carbohydrates, also is one of the main causes of dysbiosis.

· Dietary changes can explain 57% of the total structural variation in gut micobiota, where genetics accounts for no more then 12 %. (Brown et al., 2012).

Solutions?

Probiotics and prebiotics may have the potential to be effective therapeutics to alleviate the symptoms associated with inflammatory diseases.

Probiotics

The probiotics are alive microorganisms that are added to food or that they present for his way of production in some food products, we can say that these come alive to the gut and close to the bacteria that are present there, they improve the functioning of this organ and constitute an excellent barrier of defense that reinforces the immunological system.

The prebiotics are not alive microorganisms, unlike the probiotics; these are simply substances that stimulate the growth of the probiotics and other bacteria that they find in our organism as constituent of the gut flora.

The prebiotics act together with the probiotics, repopulating the gut flora and optimizing his functions in favor of the health of our organism.
