Projects From 1985 : The Driveway

Q, being a man who liked his cars (an understatement) — especially classic cars — was inspired by the fact that the southern end of the property was essentially a wasteland with a street frontage that could be converted to something useful — a curving driveway leading up to a large double garage/workshop. So, one of the first major projects that was undertaken was to excavate and make this, building the driveway and stone wall between 1985–87.

Once the plans had been finalised, all there was to do was to start digging! So Q got a man with a digger in
Looks like a fairly large tree had to be removed…

Once the driveway had been excavated, Q got busy building a stone wall to hold everything in place. And of course once it was in place, came the requisite classic car shots…

And the stone wall came out so nice he decided to continue building it right around the full street frontage, by hand.

Now, 25 years later, the driveway is still going strong and the wall is still standing… the only thing thats changed is that the tress are a bit bigger and the cars have gotten newer!
