Nathaniel Adams Cole born on March 17, 1919 in Montgomery, AL. known professionally as Nat King Cole, was a jazz pianist and singer. He recorded over 100 songs that were hits on the pop charts.
Cole was the first African American to host an American Television show, and earned him a star along the walk of fame at 6229 Hollywood Blvd., in a ceremony held on February 8, 1962 for his contribution to television, and a second star at 6659 Hollywood Blvd., for recording.
