On September 16th & 17th 2020, the Holy Tisch Future Food Convention will take place in Munich. Do you have something to say about the future of food? Do you want to give a keynote or a workshop? Then submit your proposal now!

Update: We pushed the deadline forward to June 30th

As long as humans exist, we will feed ourselves. That’s for sure. However, it is also certain that the How and What of eating will have to change drastically in the future.

The great challenges of mankind are also challenges for the food system — from climate change to the population explosion. It is clear that we cannot simply continue the way we used to. At least not if we want to feed our species sustainably and save our planet from complete collapse.

But what will the future of food look like?

How can our food system become highly productive, ecologically sustainable and biodiverse, all at the same time?

Which innovations are promising? In which cases does a return to traditions help?

These are precisely the questions we are exploring at Holy Tisch.

A Platform for the Food Ecosystem

Holy Tisch is a platform for innovators, change agents and anyone working on a better food system. As this transformation can only succeed with joint forces, Holy Tisch connects people from all parts of the ecosystem: producers, start-ups, investors, retailers, brands, chefs, restaurateurs, NGOs, and the media.

It is important for us to be open to various perspectives and diverse approaches. We are facing a global challenge that cannot be solved with patent recipes or ideologies. This is why we focus on interdisciplinary dialogue and knowledge exchange across the borders of siloed disciplines. We find practicability just as important as visionary ideas.

The Main Themes at Holy Tisch 2020

Holy Tisch 2020 has four main themes. Ideally, your proposal fits into one of these tracks.

Climate Crisis

Food’s impact on climate change

What role does the global food ecosystem play in climate change and which approaches tackle these challenges? As food professionals, what can we do to reduce our C02 footprint? Which technologies and other innovations are promising? How can local and global needs be reconciled? Etc.

21st Century Food Eaters

Consumers today & in the future

How will people want to eat in the 21st century? What influence does this have on society and the food business? How is consumer behavior changing and what does this mean for the industry? What are the priorities of tomorrow’s customers? How will technology and data influence purchasing decisions? Etc.

Feeding the Masses

Food for 10 billion people

How can we sustainably feed the 10 billion people living in 2050? Which new production processes — from vertical farming to 3D printing — actually have potential? How will people’s diets (have to) change — will insects, alternative proteins, solar food or veganism turn into mass phenomena? What does this mean for chefs and restaurateurs? Etc.

Food x Culture

Food’s cultural role in the 21st century

Food today is a lifestyle, a status symbol, and even a political statement. How can food professionals react to these developments? In which direction is the cultural significance of food trending? How is the media’s portrayal of food changing? What influence does food have on modern identities? Is cultural appropriation a problem in the culinary industry? Etc.

Your contribution doesn’t neatly fit into one of these tracks? But it relates to the future of food? No problem! You can also submit a general topic.

Your Proposal for Holy Tisch

Would you like to participate and make an active contribution, e.g. give a keynote, moderate a workshop, or organize another interactive session? Would you like to pitch a startup or project? Or do you want to exhibit your art? Then submit your idea to our call-for-contributions!

You can do this easily using our form.

Submission deadline: 30 June 2020

What we’re looking for: Holy Tisch is not a one-way street. We combine input with interaction. In addition to classical keynotes, we want to offer a range of workshops and moderated, interactive sessions. Together we want to create new knowledge, fresh ideas, and inspiration. In addition to suggestions for keynotes, we are therefore particularly interested in interactive workshop and session formats.

We are also looking for pitches from startups & projects that work on the future of food as well as for artistic works dealing with the subject.

Questions: via email here

SUBMIT YOUR PROPOSAL NOW!

We are looking forward to your suggestions!
