5 ways data can improve government results

Throughout the world, brilliant students are working on interesting class projects that will never be read by anybody else than the instructor who ordered them. Years of brainpower lost.

This is particularly nonsensical since the invention of the internet has removed all barriers to publication.

The following 5 projects are good examples of that. While not yet ready for the “prime time” of an academic publication, these reports showcase five different ways in which government services for homeland security could be made better through the use of data science.

They have depth and width, and they argue some key points from the important vantage point of the homeland security expert.

These long reads will certainly interest and inform whoever cares about domestic security issues in the United States, and they showcase the diversity of topics that form the so called Homeland Security enterprise.
