Medium Homeland Security collection

Editorial Guidelines

1 Interesting ideas about Homeland Security. This is as broad as it gets. Think big; avoid platitudes, common places, trite ideas. The only stepping marker? to push homeland security outside its comfort zone. You can find here and here some great advice about how to blog effectively. Blogging plays an important role in academic research.

2 Powerful intelligent posts for people, not for DHS employees. Counterintuitive or contrarian ideas are particularly appreciated.

3 Avoid the use of parenthetical citations; this is a powerful medium (☺) so use its formatting tools.

4 Also, don’t forget that you are the formatter of your own story. The packaging is as important as good content to go viral. Use good graphics (for the cover page, at least 900 pixels, or 900x900); use high-resolution images; take your post to the next level. HINT: Most stories that are rejected to the collection, are rejected because they lack a high-resolution image. If you don’t know how visually enhance your story, learn it first! It is a super important skill to have anyway.

5 Anybody can be a writer for the collection. Please send request to be included as a writer to the twitter account at @RodrigoNieto

6 If your post is going to be shorter than a 3 minutes read, brevity should be an intrinsic part of it; its short nature should, like here, enhance the message.
