Opening in 1986, Stand Up NY has become one of the premiere comedy clubs in New York. Classic comedians like Jon Stewart have proven producers from Comedy Central right by providing the best in entertainment. Gotham Comedy Club

Gotham was founded in May 1996. It has since provided refuge for comics like Sarah Silverman as well as a filming location for Larry David’s “Curb Your Enthusiasm.” You can check out comics like Sofia Niño de Rivera practicing their sets as well as an occasional visit from “Tonight Show” host, Jimmy Fallon.


The Comedy Cellar

Everybody’s favourite comedy club, The Comedy Cellar was created as the mindchild of Bill Grundfest. Since it’s inception in 1982, it has welcomed comics who earned their stripes at being the most hilarious joke-smiths the concrete jungle has ever seen. Located next to the Olive Tree Café, this club has been notable in FX’s “Louie” as well as several comedy documentaries.

Deemed the “Best Comedy Club” by New York Magazine, The Stand features the likes of Dane Cook and Colin Quinn working their comedy chops in this architectural dreamboat of a venue. Other features of the Stand include a restaurant that serves brunch and rum-flavored cocktails. The stage provides audience members with two levels. With that, two different options for what to eat during the show. (Lower Level offers Pretzel Crusted Calamari while Upper Level offers Cheeseburger Dumplings.)
