Want To Become My Co-Editor?

Hey guys,

I just want to say that I absolutely LOVE this publication. I can’t even call it “my” publication anymore — because it’s not. It’s yours.

It belongs to you, everyone in my personal newsletter, and everyone in our Discord server for creatives.

And I am so happy that we’re doing this.

Yet… I am struggling. There’s just too much to do.

As Neil Gaiman recalled in his famous commencement speech, “One day I found myself professionally replying to emails, not writing. And so I stopped replying to emails and started writing.”

Waking up to 20+ new emails each day, I feel the same way.

I don’t have time to write, I don’t have time to pay close attention to this publication, and I don’t have time to learn new things (which is something I love more than anything).

Anyway.

I am looking for help. I am asking for help. Your help.

But I can’t pay you. Not yet. That would be unfair to me — as I am doing this for free — and unfair to our readers, as that’s not why we’re doing this at this point.

My goal with this publication is to turn it into a “safe haven” from all the marketing BS that’s prevalent on the web, and Medium too.

I am so tired of “get-rich-quick” schemes and “here’s-how-to-become-a-successful-blogger” articles. I am tired of marketing. Clickbait. Advertising. All that kind of shit that promises to improve your CTR (%) and talks about ‘audience monetization’. (Uh, that phrase makes my stomach churn.)

I want to create a “safe space” for creators like you, where we talk about one thing and one thing only: content. And how to make yours great.

We could also talk about the creative lifestyle, minimalism, etc. — and that’s something I’d love for us to dive deeper in the next few weeks.

But overall, the mission is simple: help creators create better content and succeed.

And as I said, I can’t do it alone.

I need help with two things:

  1. Editing/formatting our pieces. The volume of incoming articles is just too much for me to process on my own at this point, in addition to writing, answering those 20+ emails per day and, you know, living.

Ideally, I am looking for two volunteers to help me out.

Together, we can build a publication that might one day — maybe — become a “partner” of Medium, and start to make money. Then we’ll all be paid well. Then it’ll become a business.

It’ll become something more than just me (which is always the goal).

But meanwhile, it’s a completely free, volunteer-type, mission-driven sort of thing.

If that’s something you’re interested in, shoot me a line.

I wish you a great creative week ahead.

Cheers,

Sergey Faldin
