Update from NBC:

Justin Roiland used his ‘Rick and Morty’ fame to pursue young fans, text messages show

Abuse is a huge problem in comedy. I wish that wasn’t the case, but this latest mess with Justin Roiland, co-creator of Adult Swim’s Rick and Morty highlights just how deep the problem goes.

Charges were filed against the creator in 2020 for felony domestic violence in Orange County, California. The alleged incident occurred that same year with a woman he was dating. There’s a pre-trial hearing slated for April 27, though Justin’s attorney claims his client is innocent and the case will be dismissed. As of this writing, Adult Swim, Hulu and 20th TV have all failed to comment on the situation or the future of Roiland’s shows.

Remember, Justin is the co-creator of Rick and Morty who voices the roles of both…
