Who’s Afraid of a Big Bad Trump?

We all should have been a lot warier of the MAGA movement.

Here’s the scary thing about Trump. Or at least, here’s what very scary to me. Whether or not he gets voted out in November (and yes, I sincerely hope he does), America will still have to deal with a raging infection among his supporters.

And I don’t know that anybody really has a clear idea of how we might do that.

When Trump first began his bid for the Whitehouse, he kept saying such ridiculous and clearly untrue things that I honestly thought his kids might help to sort of… reign him in. I’d seen a few seasons of The Apprentice and thought that surely, they were all embarrassed by their father’s comments as well.

How utterly naive.

As it happens, the Trump children have no shame in selling their souls to the alt-right outrage machine either. They’ve all enjoyed some amount of extra attention, wealth, or political nepotism since their father became POTUS. Even Tiffany Trump made headlines last spring for celebrating “Her Law School Graduation in a Summery Tank Top and Worn-In White Loafers.”

In a pandemic.

Now, Donald Trump himself is a dinosaur. And dinosaurs don’t live forever. And it doesn’t really matter if Trump is a bumbling idiot…
