When “international marriage speaker” Mark Gungor issues a proclamation about good marriages or acceptable reasons for divorce, he expects women to shut up and listen. He certainly doesn’t appreciate them butting in with their own experiences about what makes a Christian couple’s sex life die.

You see, Pastor Mark is on a mission. He wants to help married couples improve their relationships and enjoy greater intimacy. This mission is so important to Gungor, that unlike many pastors before him, he doesn’t even hesitate to tell folks to get a divorce if their sex life is non-existent.

At first glance, that might sound good and even enlightened. Personally, I don’t believe anyone should feel forced to stay in a sexless marriage when that’s not what they want. There just seems to be one problem, though.

What leads to a sexless marriage? You might not think that’s such a complex question, but Mark Gungor and an increasing number of women just can’t seem to agree.

If it wasn’t for Sheila Gregoire, I never would have known about Mark Gungor at all. I’m long-divorced and no longer a Christian, so the words “married Christian sex lives” aren’t exactly at the top of my Google search history.
