*Note: For every book, I always try to summarize three things I loved and three things that might deter some readers. This is not a reflection on the authors or their skills in the craft, and I mean no disrespect. Not every book is for everyone. I’ll do my best with my review so you, my dear readers, can decide whether the story is for you. Also, I don’t summarize the premise or plot unless they’re things I loved on my list, as anyone can visit Goodreads and read the blurb.
I’ll start with this statement: after reading this book, Katherine Center has officially become my favorite romance author.
There are more than three things I adored about this book, but I’ll try my best to boil it down:
1. The characters
I’m a character-driven reader. I read for characters. If I can’t root for a character, the story loses my attention, no matter how much action the writer packs into the plot. I loved everything about Emma, the protagonist, not because she was perfect, but because she was far from it.
