L.M. MONTGOMERY sure knows how to write a book! This book is the pure definition of a well- written classic. Bursting with emotions…this book had me “ENRAPTURED” from the very first page! Anne of green gables is a classic that has the seniors and juniors alike hooked on every word!
Every word is written with rapt attention. The story is woven with magic that has people enchanted… craving for more!
The story story is all about a little orphan girl who has grown up with a childhood in an asylum shifting from house to house as a care- taker from a tender age. When young Anne Shirley first arrives at green gables she astounded at the beauty of the place but when she learns that the people ( Marilla and Matthew Cuthbert ) who had brought her here was entirely by mistake as they had sent word to the asylum for a boy and were instead met with her! Nonetheless they decide to keep her after much arguing… so that is how Anne Shirley ( who insists that her name be spelled with an ‘e’) embarks on her journey to make ‘ bosom’ friends and enemies as she discovers what life has to throw at her!
I found this tale absolutely fascinating. It was woven with such love and care.The authors attention to detail is remarkable! Personally I don’t really enjoy classics but I simply devoured this one!
