Book review: I must betray you by Ruta Sepetys

This novel tells the story of the hard lived fight to gain independence away from communism and the dictatorship of Nicolae Ceausescu. It follows the struggles of 17 year old Cristian Florescu, who dreams of becoming a writer and sharing his poems to the world.
The main theme in this book is betrayal, with Cristian never knowing who to trust or who is an informant for the Securitate (the government’s secret police).
I enjoyed this book, and would rate it 8.5/10 and would recommend it for anyone aged 12+ since there was a lot of violence.
