On The Weekend In Sport, we look at what sporting goodies the upcoming weekend has in store for us all; featuring a comprehensive list of the who’s, the when’s and the where’s of the games too. Last weekend we looked ahead at the upcoming UFC event, which Manchester’s own Bisping ended up winning, and an England match versus Malta which we won thanks to goals from Daniel Sturridge and Dele Alli.

Any football fan will know, because their internal countdown will soon be reaching it’s climax: the international break is over, and club football is back. Or, at least, will be back in give or take 24 hours.

The weekends earliest kick off will see Chelsea take on Leicester City at Stamford Bridge, where nearly-Blue (according to the media…) Riyad Mahrez will get a look at the stadium he turned down in the summer; a calling N’Golo Kante couldn’t resist. A loss for Leicester could make his decision to turn down the club an even more bitter pill to swallow, but a win could kick start their season after a few results that don’t flatter the team that took the league by storm last season.

The bang-in-form Etienne Capoue returns to his White Hart Lane as he faces ex-club Tottenham Hostpur, but they have their own player right in the middle of a hot streak, with Heung Min-Son recently crowned Premier League Player of the Month.

Arsenal will also be taking on Swansea, with the former coming off a win by one goal, and the latter coming off a loss by one goal. Speaking of single goals, Everton split the points with Crystal Palace last weekend after scoring one apiece, but will face a Manchester City side that look truly fearsome; even after their first loss of the season coming against Spurs last gameweek.

One hell of a Saturday there for you, and then Sunday has Southampton taking on Burnley, too. The Turf Moor side will be looking to make up for the two points dropped against Arsenal after a last minute winner, and the talented Dusan Tadic will be hoping to fire Southampton into a single digit position.

Not forgetting, boy would we ever forget this, that Liverpool will take on Manchester United in a b- wait, hold up. That’s on Monday, right? Well, that’s not part of the weekend! I guess we’ll have to treat you to an entire post on the match and the history behind it on Monday! Don’t worry, it’s our pleasure!

Rugby fans should also have their schedule clear for a weekend rammed full of the sport, as, deep breath… Wasps take on Zebre, Northampton take on Montpellier, Scarlets take on Sale Sharks, and Exeter Chiefs take on Clermont Auvergne. Again, make sure you look down below for a look at where you can watch or listen to the matches as they happen.

Fans of cycling will also be happy to know that the Road World Championships will be kicking off at 10:35 on Saturday, and the women’s elite road race will no doubt be a thrilling way to start your weekend.

If any of this has got you in the mood to give some type of sports or fitness a shot this weekend, we might be able to help you out.

Even if you don’t have friends to do them with, our Hoops app can connect you with other people that want to. So if you’re in the mood for football, we can find you matches that are looking for players, players looking for matches, and you can even manage payments with the app so you don’t have to worry about renting a pitch out, no one turning up, and losing money!
