Truly, Valentine’s Day is all about love, and here at Hope Bio we are surrounded by it. Although Valentine’s Day is often associated with romantic partners, we’d like to expand the conversation to include other loved ones who offer irreplaceable support, such as family and friends.

The love we get to observe every day at Hope Bio is unconditional and often overflowing. Patient families that find their way to us have put everything in their lives towards the care of their loved ones. When family members hold the hands of patients receiving treatment, they are guiding their spirit forward with strength and compassion. When parents bank their newborn’s stem cells with us, they are expressing the protective love of a parent, safeguarding their child’s future health to allow them to embrace life to the fullest. Witnessing this genuine familial love is part of what makes working at Hope such an inspiring and worthwhile experience.

The treatment process through love begins even before any consultation or infusion session at Hope. When we meet our patients for the first time, they have already received their initial dose of strength and resolve from their family and friends. The love and support between them connects us directly with the challenges our patients face, and the strongest lifeline anyone battling disease can have is drawn from one heart to another. The Hope family simply cannot do what we do without it.

The connections that our clinical team establishes with patients and their families is bound by that same loving energy. We are inspired by the work we do for every individual because from the first time they walk through our doors, they are family. We seek to understand their struggles and desires, and we make certain to nurture and maintain our connection with them. When one of us suffers, we all suffer.

“In truth a family is what you make it. It is made strong, not by number of heads counted at the dinner table, but by the rituals you help family members create, by the memories you share, by the commitment of time, caring, and love you show to one another, and by the hopes for the future you have as individuals and as a unit.” — Marge Kennedy

I hope you can take a moment this Valentine’s Day to reflect on all of the love you have in your life, whether it be romantic, familial, or friendly. Appreciate how priceless our human connections are and don’t forget to spread the love!
