Well fellas, it has all come to an end. Before we get down to the results, lets remember what a success this season has been. 44 guys have entered and even though only one guy comes out as the Mega Champion, you are all winners. OK, nevermind, the rest of us clearly lost. But there is always next year. Mark your calendars for the draft — Wednesday, September 6th, 2017, 7pm at Hope.

Conference Champions

We had four conference championships this weekend. The winner of each conference will be awarded with a small conference champ trophy.

Conference A — Russ Porowski
Conference B — Kyle Phillippi
Conference C — Jason Clark
Conference D — Josh Bills

Before we recap the championship, don’t forget you can check out the other conferences at any time by clicking on the links below.

The Hunt for the Helmet

Finally, we have the Mega-League champion. With a nice little 7.5" trophy to take home:

pre-playoff rank. team name (manager name) , record (conference), playoff seed week 2 points

3 . WARDENS OF THE NORTH (Robert Weaver) , 9–4 (Conf. A) , 1st seed 111.1 pts
21 . Le’Veon on a prayer (kevin gutelius, Chris Lembo) , 7–6 (Conf. A) , 6th seed 126.9 pts
4 . The Height Supremacist (Kyle Flippy) , 9–4 (Conf. B) , 1st seed 138.3 pts
8 . Urine Trouble (Russell Porowski) , 8–5 (Conf. A) , 2nd seed 143.9 pts
2 . Touchdowns All Day Everyday (Jason Clark) , 12–1 (Conf. C) , 1st seed 174.1 pts
13 . From Wentz It Came (Josh Bills) , 7–6 (Conf. D) , 4th seed 180.9 pts

Congratulations goes out to the rookie, Josh Bills.

Just a few notes on the championship:

  • Not a single one of the 43 other teams scored higher than Josh Bills.
  • If Jason Clark would have started Sterling Shephard instead of DeMarco Murray, we would be congratulating him.
  • 180.9 points wasn’t even Josh’s optimal lineup. If he would have started Tevin Coleman and Eric Ebron in place of Larry Fitzgerald and Zach Ertz, he would have put up a 208.3 spot!
  • Here are some screen shots of their rosters from this week:

We caught up with Josh for an exclusive interview:

Josh, you seemed to have put up a good score this week.

When you heard about the Hunt for the Helmet, what was your first thought?

When you saw you only got 5.3 points from Ertz on Thursday nights game, how did that make you feel?

I heard you spoke with Ertz after the game about his performance. What did he say to you?

After Saturday’s games, were you feeling confident?

But when you took a look at Jason’s score, what was going through your mind?

Truthfully though, were you ever really worried?

What was you reaction when you found out you won?

Was that your only reaction?

And then?

I heard you bumped into Jennifer Lawrence and were telling her about your lineup this week. Any chance you can recall that exchange?

Any chance you would be willing to share your trophy?

Can we take a picture of you for the bulletin announcement?

How do you picture your victory tour going?

Before we let you get back to work, anything else you want to say?

That’s it for this year folks. Look forward to next year. It was a great year. Mark your calendars for next year and make sure you invite some other guys to be a part of it. Our goal next year is 60 men participating in 6 conferences.
