Round one is done. If you need a refresher on the playoff format, you can check out the last article. With 24 teams facing off in round one and only the top ten teams advancing, we are seeing the hopes and dreams of 14 teams come to a crashing halt. Before we recap the weekend, don’t forget you can check out the other conferences at any time by clicking on the links below.

Mega Playoff Results:

Looks like you needed to top 129.9 points this week (down from 131 last year) to move on in the playoffs. Anyone that started any of George Kittle, Amari Cooper, or Derrick Henry got a solid bump into the next round.
(Editors Note: I have no factual data to back that up. If you have been bounced out of the playoffs with one of them in your lineup, it only highlights your deficiencies as a manager and you can spend all offseason thinking about it.)

NO SOUP FOR YOU:

Come back in one year.

Looks like for some of you, you demanded just a little too much from your team. But in the end, when you are missing the bread with your soup, pointing it out after the fact does nothing for you this year.

Ty, you didn’t belong in this group with a 5–8 record to begin with and your performance this week showed.

You want good news? Ok, here it is. Everyone that scored above the weekly average advanced to the next round.

This season the average score per game was 128.8 points.

The bad news? Only 3 teams on their bye this week scored above that. It’s going to be an interesting weekend coming up.

RACING TO THE NEXT ROUND:

This week, some of you took full advantage and jumped out early at any sound of the starting gun. Good for you. Hopefully you didn’t waste all your energy and choose not to run next week.

Ten teams are moving on to meet the 12 teams coming off a bye. Next week these 22 teams will meet and only eight will move on. Let’s take a peak:

Those coming off a bye.
Two of these teams are not like the others…

Note: The only team here that LOST their conference matchup, but are still moving on this week in the Mega Playoff is Josh Van Dexter. He put up a solid performance, but instead got man handled.

Conference Playoff Update

We will see how things shake out after this week. Which teams are the real deal and will continue on and which teams are just straight frauds.

Questions, Let me know.

PS — In case some of you didn’t know, the Cowboys suck.
