I often get asked; What is my favorite subject to take pictures of? The answer to that changes with every season of my life, not to be confused with the seasons of the year. I am speaking about the seasons we experience in our life journey, where we fall, get back up, grow, mature in lessons, and learn from our mistakes.

My photography journey started at a young age. I was about 5 years old when I found my mom's old Kodak film camera and snapped many pictures around the house without her permission.

When she got the film developed, she had a series of unexpected images of myself, the living room, my sister, and goodness knows what else. She confronted me about it, and I denied using her camera for fear of retribution. The evidence against me was overwhelming, yet I still denied it. I was a professional liar at a young age.

The life lesson I want you to learn from that experience is don't lie to your mom or anyone for that matter. I did, however, inadvertently prove to her that her camera works inside without a flash. This was something she was unaware was possible until she saw my pictures develop. This is also how I probably avoided getting the whopping of my life. However, I did create plenty…
