You thought it was over. The painful ping in your heart whenever you thought of them. The sleepless nights staring at the ceiling wondering where it all went wrong. The constant knot in your stomach felt like anxiety but was really just unresolved grief over losing someone so special.

I know you prayed for the feelings to go away. You tried to bargain with God, promising you’d be a better person if only your heart would heal. If only you could wake up one day feeling nothing at all for this person who hurt you so deeply.

But here’s the truth: God is not removing your feelings because they serve a purpose. Those pangs of heartache are reminders of how deeply you’re able to love. Your grief exists because you gave that love freely, without holding back.

And while endings are always painful, you now carry the memory of what it feels like to love that intensely. What it means to bond so closely with another soul. You know the joy of true vulnerability and unfiltered sharing.

So when your mind drifts to the laughter once shared over cups of coffee, or the electric energy of your first kiss, don’t be angry. Don’t beg God to make you forget.
