Until the other day,
I always felt myself to be
A small sandwich
On a large plate.

Nothing much to brag about.

Then, I heard this idea.

It made all the difference.

Being the best that you can be
Doesn’t mean taking up space…

It’s not about how big you are,
Or how loud you are.

Honouring who you are
Is more about being true to yourself
In a way that makes your heart sing.

Let the others eat the cheese,
If that’s what makes them tick.

You just go ahead and beat your drum,
While they lick the crumbs off the plate!
