If you’ve been reading my work for a while, you’ll have heard me talk about how much I love England, and how much I miss living there.

You’ll have also heard me go on about Ravenswood, my beloved 500-year-old stone cottage.

And you might have heard a bit of the story that led to my losing it and the idyllic life that went along with it. And ending up back in Western Canada.

You know what they say about things that are too good to be true…

I won’t get into that just now, but I will say this: a couple of days before I left England several years ago, I made my final trip to do a few errands in a nearby small town. And I knew that it would also be the last time I made the journey back home to Ravenswood.

In preparation for that final drive, I’d taken my camera with me so that on the way back, I could record my journey along that favourite stretch of road between the next village and Ravenswood. It was a journey that had always filled my heart with peace and joy. A journey that always soothed my soul and brought comfort when I was struggling. It meant I would soon be back home, where the energy in my sweet cottage…
