Where’s the Tea
A heartwarming ‘if-only’ tale
Growing up, music and movies were my favourite teachers, which is why I am very peculiar about what I listen to.
We like to console ourselves with the “so what” belief, “So what? It happened to me. Made me stronger. Made me who I am.” I don’t doubt that, no. Hey, I like to console myself, too. But as asked of us, don’t think about the ‘you now’, think about the ‘you then’ and how one conversation with your future self could’ve helped you. Forget, look, forget, for once — the ripple effect.
Liberty, who knows, considering, I just might change her entire life. :)
Let’s see…
What would I call her? I wondered. I knew she hated the name ‘I.B’ and was too young to know the name ‘Angel’. What was her name? What identity did she bear at 13?
I’m sitting across the dining table from her, waiting for her on the tea.
Her stare is unwavering, annoying. I’m still too self-aware till now but how would she know that?
I shift uncomfortably in the chair, “Ahem.. little lady, my name is Typical Angel. What’s yours?”
“Little lady?” she scoffs, “Do I look that small to you?”
