The Criterion Memorandum For November 2017.

Apologies for the belated nature of this post; I’ve been away.

Criterion unleash the biggest of guns in December, with their biggest box-set to date 100 Years Of Olympic Films coming in at a mammoth 32 Blu-ray discs. Before then though there are a few favourites making their bow as part of the November line-up.

Jean-Pierre Melville’s Le Samourai has been a long-time coming to high definition from Criterion. Earlier releases have elsewhere in the world have proven problematic, so here’s hoping this is the definitive edition.

Elsewhere we have Terry Gilliam’s Jabberwocky, Donna Deitch’s Desert Hearts and George Cukor’s The Philadelphia Story, all new to the collection, and all sporting 4K transfers. All three of these titles will also be coming to the UK in November.
