The Programme For The London Film Festival 2016.

The programme for this year’s London Film Festival was revealed this morning.

London has long been known for being something of a “greatest hits” package of the festival circuit, with many of the season’s mainstays an most-talked about movies often making an appearance. This year’s bill is no different, with the likes of Maren Ade’s Toni Erdmann, Nate Parker’s Birth Of A Nation and Damien Chazelle’s La La Land all set to play (in a surprising turn of events, Bruno Dumont’s Ma Loute appears not to be screening).

It is in the archives where the most exciting events appear to be taking place though (if ever there were a statement to sum up 2016 in cinema…) with the newly-restored One-Eyed Jacks, fresh from Bologna and ahead of a Criterion Blu-ray release screening in all its glory in NFT1 alongside Woody Allen’s Manhattan and the long-awaited restoration of Phantasm, orchestrated by J.J. Abrams.

The full programme can be found online over the British Film Institute’s website.
