The results are in for the second HOPR DAO governance experiment! Participation was through the roof across all three phases, culminating in two votes with nearly 300 voters deploying 9m HOPR tokens’ worth of votes in each vote. Here’s a brief rundown of the winning proposals. Full analysis, including the NFT and token payouts, will be coming soon.

In the HOPR token vote, the four winning proposals were:

You can follow the links to view the original proposals on the HOPR forum.

The HOPR token budget will be allocated to these four proposals in a 40/30/20/10 split and implemented over the next 3–6 months.

In the DAI vote, the four winning proposals were:

Because this part of the vote was more open ended, there are a few more steps before we can move to implement these proposals. The first step is to take legal advice on whether these proposals are possible and what changes might be needed to make them fully compliant.

It may seem a little disappointing to require this step, but it’s much more efficient to seek legal advice on specific proposals than asking lawyers to determine a general framework for what proposals would and wouldn’t be possible in advance. DAOs are a very new kind of legal entity which don’t have full recognition yet, so we’re really engaging in some groundbreaking and trendsetting activity.

We’ll be spending the next week analyzing the results and the data we gathered across all three phases of the process. We’ll then report on these findings, along with some

In the meantime, if you have any feedback on the results or the process itself, we’d love to hear from you in our forum.

Thank you again for all your support across all three phases. We know there are some improvements to be made in the procedure, especially when it comes to the UI. Now that we’re happy that the process works well, we’ll be looking at different platforms which can produce a more streamlined user experience without losing the benefits of our three-phase system.

We’ll keep you posted on the next DAO experiment, which we hope to launch before the end of the year.
