The HOPR Säntis testnet has ended. Huge thanks to everyone who participated over the past three weeks! With over 500 active nodes, the community response was overwhelming. We’ve gathered a huge amount of data and feedback which have helped us to dramatically improve our network stability and implement new features. You’ll be able to test these out when we launch our next incentivized testnet, coming very soon.

Winners

Congratulations to the 20 highest scorers from the Säntis leaderboard. We’ve also selected our 10 random winners who will receive 1,000 HOPR each.

Extra token payout

Our bleeding-edge testnet has been a huge help for the development team, but we know it wasn’t always smooth sailing for participants. To thank everyone for their patience and support, we’re adding another 100,000 HOPR tokens to the prize fund, taking the total to 200,000. These extra tokens will be shared evenly between everyone who completed our feedback form after Week 1 and everyone who registered with our bot, even if you were unable to relay any data via your node. If you did both, you’ll receive both rewards.

How to claim

To claim your HOPR reward, you’ll need to complete a few verification steps.

First, send a direct message to twitter.com/hoprsupport which includes the Ethereum address you want your HOPR tokens sent to. For security reasons, please don’t tweet your claim publicly to this address. You must send a Twitter direct message from the same account that you used to register with our CoverBot and which is shown on the leaderboard at hoprnet.org/saentis or which you provided in the feedback form.

Once the HOPR mainnet launches later in the year, we’ll automatically send your HOPR tokens to the Ethereum address you provide.

Details for how to get your wallet to recognize your HOPR tokens will be shared later. Do not claim your HOPR tokens using an exchange address, as you may not be able to access them. Please use an Ethereum wallet such as MyCrypto, Metamask or MyEtherWallet and ensure you have a copy of the corresponding mnemonic stored in a secure offline location.

All claims must be made by noon CET on 13th October, 2020.

Onwards And Upwards: Our Next Testnet

With the testing data from the Säntis testnet, we’re moving full steam ahead with our next testnet, which will launch very soon. We’ve stabilized the network layer, which will fix the connectivity issues which some participants encountered. We’ve also made various UI improvements, and made it much easier to build a development environment so you can build your own bots and other apps on top of HOPR.

HOPR Node PC runners will also be able to participate in the testnet with the latest build. Your HOPR Node PC will automatically update to the latest version when this is released.

The next testnet will have several new privacy and incentive features implemented, including payment channels and probabilistic micropayments. This will give everyone their first taste of how the HOPR incentivized mixnet will reward data relayers.

As always, feel free to reach out to us in our Telegram and Discord with any questions. Stay tuned for details of the text testnet, and thank you all again for making Säntis a success. Each testnet brings us closer to our goal of accessible data privacy.
