With horror in his eyes, Jonathan looked at his beloved bride. Miriam was standing there laughing like a mad woman… Spittle sprayed from her gaping mouth onto Jonathan’s face; he could feel the warm drool sliding down his cheek.

Miriam was not there anymore, Jonathan realised with a pang of sadness in his heart; she was a shell of her former beauty and all that was left was a beast. Abigail had eaten her alive from the inside until there was nothing left of her.

Miriam was no more. There was only Abigail…

Why hadn’t he listened to the horsemen? They had warned him to leave, and he laughed in their faces. He needed them now, but he had cast them aside like a fool!

“Abigail, I know you’re in control of her brain, and I know you’re speaking through her. Miriam, can You hear me?” Jonathan begged his wife with futility.

Miriam stopped laughing, her head craned to the side. Jonathan could hear the bones in her neck cracking; it sounded like a hammer impacting a ceramic tile… A large smirk spread from ear to ear, bearing sharp, yellow-stained teeth that seemed to clatter together even though her lips did not move.

A ghastly whisper left Miriam’s mouth, a mixture of her voice and that of a little girl… They were one and…
