(1) The True Story Behind the Annabelle Doll

The movies about Annabelle the doll are extremely popular in the horror community and always give you the horror relief that you may be needing, but did you know that Annabelle movies are based on supposedly true events?

One thing that you might notice off the bat if you research about the doll is that the doll in the movie and the real doll. The doll in the movie appears to be a porcelain antique doll, and it also looks quite expensive. But the doll in real life is a larger Raggedy Ann doll and doesn’t look as spooky as the one in the film.

The story of Annabelle begins in 1970 when a mother went into an antique shop and bought the doll for her daughter Donna as a birthday gift. When Donna received the gift she really loved her gift, but soon Donna and her roommate began to see the doll notice that the doll would be in different places than they remember putting it. Although this did make them suspicious, the movements were small so they just thought they misplaced it. But as time passed the she would begin to move rooms and to different places and the girls knew neither of them touched her. At this point the girls became scared but it only got worse as the doll soon began to try to attack them and Annabelle became very malicious. The last straw was when one day Donna came home from work and found that the blood seemed to be bleeding from its hands. After this the roommates called a medium and the medium told them that the spirit of a seven year old girl that had been murdered in the location that their apartment was built on top of was inside of the doll. After hearing this the girls began to feel bad for the young girl and gained sympathy for the doll, but this quickly ended when Donna’s roommate woke up to the doll strangling him and they ended up calling a priest and the priest recommended Ed and Loraine Warren. They told the roommates that the doll was being controlled by a demonic entity so they cleansed Donna’s roommates, but that wasn’t enough for Donna, she e wanted it gone. While Ed and Loraine were attempting to bring it home their car began to malfunction out of no where and when they got it back to their house even more sinister behavior began to happen around the doll. After this they locked Annabelle up in a glass box in their museum and they have priest come in frequently come in to bless her along with the rest of their haunted objects. But she is still known to cause mischief when she is mocked or teased.
