The Merchant’s House Museum is a historic house in New York City. I visited the Merchant’s House Museum a while back and wanted to share some details about it.

I was in New York City in January 2012 visiting with some friends. We found out about the Merchant’s House Museum from someone who visited it and recommended it to us Brits. Our trip to New York City was busy. We visited every place we could think of seeing for the five days we were there. We had an amazing time in this city and I would love to visit it again someday.

I was surprised that there was such a place like it in New York City. It was an interesting historic place and well worth the visit. Visiting this spooky old unique house gave me the chills. The house was creaky and decrepit but incredibly mysterious. Watch the video on the Merchant’s House Museum website.

The history and hauntings of the Merchant’s House Museum

The Merchant’s House Museum was built in 1832 in Manhattan. Gertrude Tredwell was born in this house in 1840 and died in the upstairs’ bedroom in 1933 in the same bed that’s been there ever since (you can see a photo of this bed below and in the video added below).
