Because Netflix, Hulu, and Amazon don’t always cut it, TBH.

It feels like every day a new streaming service pops up. Like the highly anticipated Disney+ streaming service, or the — oh that’s a thing — Crackle, home of Start-up starring The O.C’s Adam Brody.

Last year, Netflix made history with eight Oscar nominations, which is the most amount of Oscar nominations a streaming service has ever made.

BREAKING NEWS: Streaming networks are here and they’re not going anywhere.

Well, maybe more streaming services could get more Oscar nominations if there were more streaming services…

So we here at The Hot Take took the liberty of putting our brains together to come up with a list of 10 streaming services we need RIGHT NOW. Here we go:

1. Movies with Animals as Costars

Just look at that line-up! The 90s were all about Animals! And the 90s were a pretty great time! So let’s turn back to a time where we all wished we had a monkey for a best friend — before we discovered pet monkeys can, and will, eat your face off.

2. Movies Where Judy Greer Plays the Best Friend

Sure, we could’ve just said “RomComs” or “Chick Flicks.” But there are some Rom Coms where Judy G doesn’t play the best friend, and those RomComs are…

…We can’t seem to name those right now.

Greer is now going against type costarring with Jim Carrey on Showtime’s Kidding, but if you’re in the mood for peak Greer, we got you with this streaming service we just made up.

This service will have all the Judy classics like The Wedding Planner, 13 Going on 30 and 27 Dresses. But also What Women Want, where she played “Erin The File Girl,” which you could argue was really Mel Gibson’s best friend (who saved who?! We sure don’t know!) A fun game to play while watching this network would be to pretend Judy’s character is actually the protagonist and Jennifer Lopez/Garner/ Katherine Heigl is her best friend.

Just a thought!

3. Strong Female Lead

You know how Netflix is always suggesting “movies or TV shows featuring a strong female lead” and sometimes their suggestions kind of feel like a bit of a stretch:

Teen Mom? Really Netflix? REALLY?

Well on Strong Female Lead streaming, that will never happen. With movies that likely star Meryl Strep and or TV shows like Buffy, Felicity, Ally McBeal all the shows named after a strong female lead, you’re completely covered.

4. Cruise

Tom Cruise has been in a TON of movies. And most of those movies are good. I mean did you see Fallout?! Cruise has starred in a total of 46 movies, no TV shows unless he’s playing himself. And that usually go smoothly:

Right?

Cruise has starred in a range of great movies — Risky Business, Cocktail, Jerry Maguire, Vanilla Sky, all the Mission Impossible movies… AND he does his own stunts! Tom makes good choices when it comes to movies, and we would like all those movies in one place to make our lives just that much easier.

5. Movies and TV Shows in Chronological Order Where You CAN’T Skip Ahead

We here at the Hot Take don’t believe in skipping ahead, ever. Binging a new show? You better be starting on Season 1, Episode 1, even if it’s a talk show. Watching a sequel, you better watch or rewatch the first one first! A lot of movie franchises seem to be scattered amongst different streaming services, but on Can’t Skip Ahead, everything is in all one place, including spin-offs! So you can’t start watching Frasier until you’ve seen all of Cheers. And don’t even think about starting Joey before watching all of Friends in chronological order! It’s how TV and movies were meant to be watched!

6. Must See TV

7. Snick

We don’t know about you, but we don’t think we’ve had a good Saturday night of television since SNICK was around. How we long for the day where we can watch All That, Pete & Pete, Clarissa Explains it All, The Secret World of Alex Mack and Are You Afraid of the Dark all in one place! Now they can be!

8. Movies that Use Bad CGI, Green Screen (And You Can Tell)

There’s nothing more hilarious than bad special effects or use of a green screen, like is that the Rock or a video game character in The Mummy 2? No clue. We’re still dying over Tommy Wiseau terrible green screen in The Room (that will be on this network, Duh). And we know there’s a ton more. We highly suggest getting really high before streaming this service.

9. Like Spotify, But Dope Music Scenes and Dance Montages in Movies

This would be the perfect thing to play in the background at a party. Kind of like how Spotify makes playlists of the songs you keep listening to over and over again. This would make video playlists of the movie scenes you play over and over. Maybe it’s an iconic dance scene like Dirty Dancing, or where the soundtrack really shines. It could even have categories like “party scenes,” “dance-offs,” “sex scenes,” “fight scenes.” Whatever your movie music/dance poison is, this network has you covered.

10. The Girl Next Door

Was a really great movie, and sadly isn’t streaming anywhere for free. But it would be streaming here if The Girl Next Door streaming service was real! Actually, any movie or TV show with a girl/boy next door plotline would be here, and boy are there a lot!

Well, there you have it! 10 Streaming Services We Need Right Now! Do you agree? What else do we need?
