#26 FTT — “Kobe Tribute”

#26/59 — Lebron James From the Top “Kobe Tribute”

The date we began the remembrances, the memorials and commemorations. The universal testimonials to the athlete and a personality who was larger than life. The day the whole world was stunned by the devastating news on January 26th, 2020.

The infamous LeBron James / Kobe Bryant Tribute Dunk. King James honored the Iconic Legend Kobe Bryant by replicating the Mamba’s break away, reverse windmill, two-handed slam dunk. The side-by-side footage of the legendary move is the greatest tribute from one legend to another. Kobe performed the same dunk 19 years ago at the Staples Center. LeBron stated that he believes his friend, Kobe helped guide him on the play. It was just eleven days before this moment transpired that Kobe and his daughter Gianna passed away in a sudden helicopter crash on January 26th, 2020.

The desire to own this moment will be much greater with the #26 serial. It is the Holy Grail of any moment on NBA Top Shot. This is the Ultimate Mamba Tribute. The exact day of Kobe Bryant’s death. When the heartbreaking news hit the world, we’ll never forget where we were on that day, January 26th, 2020.

The #26 will never exist in circulation again for a Kobe Tribute NBA Top Shot moment, even when Genesis and Platinum Ice NBA Top Shot moments are minted.

Let’s note that Gianna and Kobe Bryant’s Jerseys #2 and #24 = #26
Also, 2 + 6 = 8 (Kobe’s original jersey number)

A day after the tragic accident, LeBron posted a heartfelt message to his Instagram account.

“I Promise You I’ll Continue Your Legacy”

#41 Cosmic — “The First LBJ NFT”

#41/49 — Lebron James Cosmic “The First”

41, the age of Kobe Bryant when this moment took place.

Kobe said that his daughter Gianna got him watching the NBA again. After Kobe retired, he had stated that he was going to start watching less NBA games to focus on his family and other activities. Kobe first attended the Atlanta Hawks vs Los Angeles Lakers game on November 17th, 2019 with Gianna. Since that game, Kobe and Gianna continued to attend various NBA games throughout the 2019–20 NBA season.

Kobe was 41 years old when LeBron slammed this savage, one-handed dunk. It was two days later, at the very next Lakers home game, LeBron and Kobe were seen on the sideline laughing together.

Here’s your chance to own the very first Legendary LeBron James ever minted! The Cosmic LeBron is so rare, it’s currently not listed in the NBA Top Shot marketplace. There are only 49 that exist in the world. It’s one of the most amazing and highly coveted NBA Top Shot moments that exist. King James staring down Nemanja Bjelica of the Sacramento Kings after slamming the ball through the rim with authority says it all! The Lakers bench and the crowd immediately jumped out of their seats like an explosion went off. Booooooom!

#42 Finals Legendary — “For Kobe”

#42/79 — Lebron James Finals Legendary “For Kobe”

As promised by LeBron in memory of Kobe, the Los Angeles Lakers won the 2020 NBA Finals Championship. Kobe would have been 42 years old.

For the first time since Kobe Bryant’s fifth and final NBA title from a decade ago, the Los Angeles Lakers won the NBA Championship on October 11th, 2020.

Leading the Lakers to their 17th Championship and his 4th title, LeBron finished with a triple-double in Game 6 of the 2020 NBA Finals. This moment captures King James taking off before erupting through the Miami Heat defenders with a perfectly executed jam.

The Lakers players stated that they were playing the rest of the NBA season in Kobe’s memory. They delivered what Kobe did 5 times for the city of Los Angeles — A Championship.

When flipped, the serial from #42 🔁 #24 was Kobe’s final Jersey worn. If you take the 4 and multiply it by 2, you also have Kobe’s original number… #8

After the tragedy, winning the 2020 NBA Championship for Kobe was what LeBron set out to do. In typical King James fashion, he did just that for his friend.

Kobe would have been 42 years old.

Michael Jordan to induct Kobe Bryant into HOF
on May 15, 2021

Michael Jordan will present Kobe Bryant into the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame at the induction ceremony on May 15th, 2021.

Kobe Bryant was the bridge that connected the Air Jordan and King James empires. It was Michael who passed his torch to Kobe, who would, in turn hand his crown down to LeBron. The two stars were different yet very similar. LeBron grew up crafting his game by emulating Kobe, just like Kobe did with Michael. Both being drafted directly out of high school, Kobe set the stage for NBA owners to trust LeBron, a kid from Akron, Ohio to become drafted as the 1st overall pick in the 2003 NBA Draft. The NBA was still wary of players joining the league directly from high school back then. Kobe was selected as the 13th overall pick of the 1996 Draft. Kobe and LeBron were always extremely competitive as opponents. As Kobe closed in on retirement, the bond between the two icons became tighter. They would go on to win a gold medal in the 2008 Beijing Olympics together. Both had won NBA championships, won NBA Finals MVP Awards and won NBA MVP Awards. Both became businessmen on and off the court. They were also fathers raising their young children.

Ranking atop of the charts in sports collectibles, LeBron and Kobe memorabilia are each extremely popular in today’s world. Being able to own a piece of history which contains both Legends combined is something that will sustain value forever.
