A few weeks ago, our organization faced a cyber incident that crippled all internal communication systems, including email.
It took us ten days to restore email access.
Interestingly, during this period, my colleagues and I discovered that stepping away from our desks to engage in face-to-face conversations not only fostered deeper collaboration but also enhanced engagement within our group projects.
Now that we’ve regained full access to technology, I find myself wondering whether embracing analog practices and conducting business face-to-face, rather than relying solely on digital communication, is a crucial element in constructing ethical, inclusive, and focused workplaces.
The absence of email distractions surprisingly resulted in increased productivity. This prompts the question: could prioritizing face-to-face communication be the key to cultivating ethical cultures in the workplace?
