You are a nice person, who kicks ass when it comes to design.

At Housing.com we’re giving a serious shot at solving the complex problems that fall under the umbrella of buying and renting homes. Housing Design has been an institution for the past 3 years to some of the best Interaction Design, User Experience Design, User Interface Design, Motion Design, Visual Design that has come out in the startup space in India.

The Design space is a cozy sunlit studio setup, right next to the terrace.

Design @ Housing

Insights Driven Design. Our approach to design is completely based on insights coming from various sources, quantitative and qualitative both that include Analytics data, User Testing, Experiments run on product etc. This helps us maximize the potential of product to serve the users while minmizing absolute opinions.
We look for designers who understand and can operate on a large part of the design spectrum and are really good at one thing — the T model. Every designer works across the full spectrum of Design — UX, UI, Interaction, Prototyping, Testing but every individual is really good in one of those areas (we don’t mind a doubled legged T at all, that makes it a Pie?).

In the past we’ve done some cutting edge work in the field of Interaction and UX. Getting fresh perspective and new energy in the mix has been one of the key reasons behind it, and it’s that time of the year again! With fresh funding and full spectrum of platforms working together with Housing.com, including Proptiger.com, Makaan.com we have an opportunity to make end-t0-end products for the consumers and customers both. The foray of products will span across platforms — Mobile apps, Progressive Mobile Web App, Desktop web app, VR and Larger Touch surfaces.

Life @ Housing

Picture this.
You walk into the office in higher reaches of Hiranandani Powai, you walk into the office that is abuzz with discussions and energy and you walk towards a wood walled room tucked away at the edge of the big terrace sound proofed with open seating. It’s 11:00am and the day has just started so you’ve probably had a good morning to yourself already, some healthy breakfast and you’re ready to claw down on that interaction you wanted to crack last night. There are drawing boards neatly ingrained in the walls in this studio like room where natural light beams in through two sides!

You give a go at the designs, get the lunch on the house around 2, and spend the afternoon discussing ideas and work you and your fellow designers have done today. A product manager walks in and has a constructive discussion with you around the problem you’ve been trying to solve. You think it’s a good idea to check on the feasibility of the temptation you want to give in to, of that sexy animation brewing in your head. You walk into the tech bay abuzz with discussions and joy and they actually say yes! You come back and burn it up!

Evening chatter by the terrace. In the distance you see the monsoon clouds coming in, and in a months time you’d be designing amidst waterfalls. You take a deep breath of fresh air and write an awesome medium post like this one. Enough to call it a day.

That corner is where you’re going to be working!

Our interview process is refreshingly different. Once we have a preliminary conversation, we invite you to spend a day with us where you get to talk to the designers at housing, see our work and present a little bit of your work. You get a feel of the office and talk to a tech and a product guy. All of these are conversations, not formal interviews. This way we can ensure that the fit is mutual, unlike a conventional hiring process.

And last but not the least, come as you are.
