Great UX + Work effort

How will the user experience be with my concept platform Workeffort?

From startups to established companies

Workeffort can be used in organizations, teams — with or without third parties — to create a simple digital overview of all the work a given company are doing every single day. All this effort is hard to track, and therefore also hard to use in a positive way for keeping your employees motivation high. I want to avoid big milestones with months between deadlines, as the way of tracking employees work. Instead they should see their effort regularly, so that they always know what they can perform. It’s a little bit like looking at your money spendings, where you are keeping an overview of your withdraws and cash flow. The more often you check this, the more you know of your expenses. It’s the same way with Workeffort, the more your know of what your are doing, the more you can control your effort.

Your stream

Your effort

See your own daily, weekly or monthly effort from all digital sources you use on an average workday. Choose to keep your detailed work private, or share all the details with your co-workers within your work area or for the entire organization. Instead of large milestones or monthly earned achievements, Workeffort gives you the result of what you have been doing on a daily basis and shows your progress to keep you motivated and most important of all — never give you the feeling of being stuck-in-the-midle. This is much like an athlete mindset where you always need to track your progress, your advancement, your effort, so you know you are moving in the right direction.

Work areas effort

See all work areas your are involved in and read the feed of activity from all added sources. See summary of other work areas within the organization and see the combined progress your coworkers are doing.

Third party effort

Involve relevant partners, consultants or clients to either follow your effort or to provide further content based on their contributing sources.

Organization effort

Your stream automatically shows every PR relevant news, social media or general updates based on the organization work. Together with an summary of other work areas within the organization and some highlighted employee effort, you have a clear overview of all the completed work in your organization. With this you are your keeping transparency for everyone looking at the stream.

Managers and CEO

Have the same overview as your employees, but at the same time see all the work areas in details. This gives you a clear view of the progress and the work your employees are doing.

Use case

App company “Appster” is a company with 10 employees. There is 5 developers, 1 designer, 3 marketing & business and 1 CEO. (It’s all imaginary, if your were wondering)

The CEO has created multiple work areas on Workeffort to give his employees an insight into their and the teams work effort and results. The CEO wants transparency between all his employees so everyone keeps their motivation. The CEO has therefore created three different work areas, plus the pre handed organization area:

  • Developers area
  • Developers + designer + CEO area
  • Marketing & business + CEO area
  • Organization area

These three work areas together with the organizational view are where all the content will be available. Let me give you a walkthrough:

For every commit from the developers, everyone in the organisation can see a daily summary of what is done illustrated by the amount of code, the commit messages and by a illustrative reference to the committed code.
Internal in the developers area there are even more information to each member. Here they can look at their own specific contributions and effort, and see how much time each task has taken cross different applications.

When a person in Marketing & Business is done with some work in an application that is added to the organization work area, every member of the organization will see the update in it’s stream. This gives the organization a good chance of showing employees their resent social updates, PR related work or internal notes.

Please give me some feedback on my business idea!
