6 Absolute secrets which will change your style of delivering speech !

Being an orator and debator since past 6 years I have decided to share up some tacs which proved to be award-winning for me and will be beneficial for you too.

1. Be Confident !

Confidence is the key to every victory especially when you are addressing your audience your confidence should be your companion. I disagree to the old-logics which states that Think as if the audience is dumb and they are a herd of sheeps ” LOL ! Instead , consider your audience more intellectual and intelligent than you which gives you the motivation and confidence that you are addressing and speaking to a highly capable audience.

2. You should be Expressive

This is the game-changer point ! Your expressions gives your written speech a life and your words a weight. Your facial and body expressions engages the audience to you. And this is the reason why speech is more powerful than writing because speech includes writing and delivering it with expressions which makes the audience feel that what you said is not scripted but coming straight from the bottom of your heart.

3. Don’t stand still

Keep in mind whenever delivering a speech you should not stand in the same posture for more than 30 seconds. Stand straight for a while then turn a bit right direction then to the left one. Change your postures relaxing yourself and making yourself and the audience casual and comfortable with each other. A mentor of mine said that you should change postures and address every corner of the audience to engage them.

4. Unique start

This is a beautiful technique for winning the audience. Start with a unique thing. you all be thinking what i am saying ! Relax. I am explaining it out ! Instead of starting with the old-fashioned dialogues “ Good morning respected audience bla bla” , you should start with something innovative , probably relatable to the situation you are in or the audience you are with or related to the topic. Start with a famous quote , a punch line of a famous artist , some biography and story inspiring people relating to topic , a pun , a light decent joke ( not a non-veg one ! LOL ) or some incident !

5. Do not use bookish language

When delivering a speech you are not there to challenge your linguistic expertise by using the most difficult vocabulary and grammar you can use instead you should use the language appropriate and understandable to the audience you are addressing . Your language should be casual or formal but not bookish ! This makes the audience feel like you are trying to prove your expertise in language rather proving the point you are speaking on.

6. Do not STOP if you forgot something

Well! many of you do this even I , when i was new to this art. You should not have to stop or break your fluency and rhythm. If you forgot something in the middle of the speech that’s completely humane and okay! do not get nervous and stop to remember the forgotten part you are not there to give a test no one knows what point you missed. So, keep going with the rhythm.
