Which platform do you belong to and where do you want the most exposure?

“The buzz on the stories competition between the two platforms is content preference.”

The war on social media continues to grow between Instagram and Snapchat. The war specifically on stories. And it’s up to its targeted audience on when and what piece of content should be uploaded to either platform. Which platform do you belong to and where do you want the most exposure?

Instagram appeals to a more professional audience while Snapchat continues to maintain its loyal younger crowd. The buzz on the stories competition between the two platforms is content preference. The professional seeks style, substance and versatility while younger users look for entertainment and humor.

To either audience, the main thing to grasp, is that the Stories function is valuable. Structurally, both features are identical with minor differences. Each platform has record, add text, a drawing tool and add emoji buttons. Snapchat wins the younger audience with interactive and localized filters and lenses while, Instagram wins on usability and providing more refined tools.

In a fast pace world, sense of urgency is key. Whether you’re updating hot spots you’ve visited or a business promoting hot deals, the 24 hour expiration creates the need to react quickly. Once the 24 hours are up you’ve missed the moment.

Facebook took Instagram and Snapchat’s hottest feature and made a game changer. Users of either audience now have access to social media gold. Facebook is not claiming to of invented the feature but, stories are now being told on Facebook and Whatsapp as well. It simply made available a great marketing strategy to more users.

To create even more buzz, Snapchat developed a new gadget to appeal to its audience. That is the Snapchat spectacles. Again, Snapchat is catering to it’s younger audience. This is a brilliant move on Snapchat’s part. The next generation are our future clients, keeping them engage is knowing what interests them most.

However, the Snapchat spectacles did not receive positive feedback. Youngsters would rather the glasses have accessibility on other social platforms as well. Collectively, most agree that it would be a good gadget to use once in awhile but not regularly. Snapchat’s road to creative innovation is headed in the right direction. What will Snapchat come up with next?

This best feature of the Snapchat spectacles is the point of view vantage. Whatever you see, your viewers are seeing. This creates a sense of excitement and more probability of reactions. Another ideal feature for the spectacles are being hands free. Which active vloggers and bloggers can benefit from.

The ultimate goal is to make it to the top of the social Media hierarchy and full engagement is key. Engagement is what brings a community of people together to discover the world around us. Social media is our virtual way of highlighting our day through a visual platform.
