How To Revert The X Logo To Twitter
I recently wrote an article called X is the new Twitter Why? It explained the reasoning behind Elon Musk, owner of Twitter, and his move from Twitter to X. I included a bonus section of How To make the app icon back into the Twitter Logo, thinking it would be an idea for people who don’t want to see X. I open YouTube and the first video on my recommended list is how to make X into Twitter. Seeing that my original article performed poorly with only one view, I thought I might explain the process in more detail with images to help explain. So without further adieu let’s get started.
Step 1: Download a Picture of the Twitter App Icon
Save the image from this link to your iPhone: https://www.flaticon.com/free-icon/twitter_3256013?term=twitter&page=1&position=4&origin=tag&related_id=3256013
It’s the Twitter icon image that we will be using.
Step 2: Download the Shortcuts App
We’ll use the Shortcuts app to create the link of the Twitter Image to the actual app.
Step 3: Create a new project in the Shortcuts App
To create a new project hit the plus icon at the top right corner of the app.
Step 4: Add Action Open X
To do this click Add Action, search Open App, select it, click where it says App, and choose X from the drop-down menu. If you find this confusing, don’t worry follow along in this 1 GIF.
Step 5: Add it to your Home Screen
Click the downwards arrow at the top of the screen, and select Add to Home Screen. Rename it to Twitter, and change the icon to the Twitter Icon by clicking the default icon and choosing your image. Finally, you can remove the X app from your home screen but do not delete it.
