This week hasn’t been good for practice. Even though I had the time, I have noticed that I spent significantly less time on the bench than I used to. It’s too soon to be burnt out, since I have only been practising for a few months, so I hope this is just a transitory thing.

I have been working on Scarborough Fair, but have only got through half of the piece yet. The first half sounds ok, but still needs more practice because I am playing it at a lower tempo and I hesitate during one of the hand movements. The second half of the piece seems much harder and I have not even begun to work on it yet.

The other piece I was working on was from John Thompson book called To A Skyscraper. The piece looked harder than it actually was. The new thing in this piece was that the hands were moving up and down on the keypad. But these movements were much simpler than the ones I had in the pieces from LCM book since these only required me to play the same notes on higher octaves. Again, I did not spend a lot of time perfecting this piece. I was satisfied with learning it to a ‘good enough’ level. Here is how it sounds.

The next piece in the book is one that I expect to like. Will be getting started on that tomorrow.
