π β»οΈ BREC AI Assistance Loop
I categorized 1,000+ AI convos over the last year to draw out broad lessons and useful tips. For each I assigned a Project, what I was seeking in Output, and how AI helped to Assist. Projects cover every element of my life, from health to work to social. Outputs vary by Project, from recipes to code to images.
For Assists I found a 2x2 pattern that covers many generative AI journeys. For now itβs called the π β»οΈ BREC AI Assistance Loop:
- Research: Learn based on existing knowledge
- Explain: Analyze and understand media or data
- Create: Make text, images, videos, audio, or code
I noticed that these fit on a 2x2 grid:
- Internal vs External: Brainstorm and Create are about getting our brains to the world. Research and Explain are about getting the world into our brains.
- Expand vs Focus: Brainstorm and Research are about diverging our thinking. Explain and Create are about converging to something new.
With Assists on the grid axes, the generative flow felt familiar. Brainstorm to expand internal thoughts into concepts. Research to expand knowledge with external sources. Explain to focus my understanding of external materials. Create to focus the journey on making something meaningful to my internal voice and curiosity. Then start again.
Simple AI convos may use just one type of assistance. More involved AI convos may call upon several, in iterative loops.
Next week Iβll start sharing weekly AI convo use cases, with each convoβs Project and Output. This π β»οΈ BREC AI Assistance Loop framework will help give consistency to the AI Assist used.
