It’s late Sunday night/Monday morning, and I’m waiting quietly for the impending doomsday about to descend on our household: Our apartment building has informed us that they will be replacing all of the water pipes in the building, and as such we’ll have no water for three weeks.

No cooking, no using plates/silverware since we can’t wash them, no shower, no toilets… you get the (awful) idea.

We have some not-so-luxury temporary shower buildings and bathrooms out on the front lawn, and I expect workers to need to come in and out of the apartment and make a lot of noise, so I’m not sure how fruitful the music life will be for the next few weeks.

BUT, and here’s the important part: Everything we get, and everything we become, lies in our actions. For that reason, I’m going to hope for the best, and make the best of the situation. I’ll spend more time outside — old school pen and notepad lyric writing sessions in the park, anyone? — I’ll meet up with friends more often, Steffi and I will take a mini-vacation to an island off the Swedish coast for a long weekend, and since water is the utility in question and not electricity, I should still be able to find ways to be productive.

Here’s to making the making the best of things,
Petravita ❤
