When I left my 12-year career as an active-duty Army officer, I didn’t know what I wanted to do next.
I just knew that I wanted to work with people and organizations to help them improve. The idea of “getting better” came from years of immersion in self-development, and I realized that sustained success in business and life stemmed from an internal drive for continuous improvement.
I delved into books about people who were doing what I envisioned for myself.
These books covered business moguls, entrepreneurs, artists, writers, creatives, sport psychologists and my favorite, an infamous Mongol conqueror.
Additionally, I was fortunate to spend my last Army assignment at a college near LA, where I attended as many talks, conferences, meetups, and hangouts as possible. LA, a haven for those seeking something greater, was the ideal place to cultivate my vision of “getting better.”
