Faculty Spotlight: Dr. Andrew Fry

In this ongoing series in Spring 2024, we will be highlighting faculty members in the Department of Health, Sport and Exercise Sciences at the University of Kansas.

Dr. Andrew Fry is a Professor and Director of the Jayhawk Athletic Performance Laboratory. He has been a faculty member since 2007 when he was hired as the Health, Sport, and Exercise Sciences Department Chair. Dr. Fry has since refocused on research and guides research in the Jayhawk Athletic Performance Laboratory which is affiliated with the Wu Tsai Human Performance Alliance. He has been very involved professionally, and has served on the Board of Directors, including a term as Vice President of the National Strength & Conditioning Association. He was honored by the NSCA with the Boyd Epley Lifetime Achievement Award for his contributions to the profession. He is married to Dr. Mary Fry ,a professor in sport and exercise psychology and the Director of the KU Sport and Exercise Psychology Lab. They have two children, Jared and Lindsey.
