In this ongoing series in Spring 2024, we will be highlighting faculty members in the Department of Health, Sport and Exercise Sciences at the University of Kansas.

Dr. Ashley Herda is an Assistant Professor in Exercise Science and is Director of the Exercise and Human Performance Laboratory at the Edwards Campus. She has been affiliated with the University of Kansas since 2013. She has been teaching the courses of Methods of Strength Training and Conditioning, Sport and Exercise Nutrition, and Research Data Analysis in Health, Sport, and Exercise Sciences. Dr. Herdas’ Research interest is focused on muscle adaptations and changes to orthopedic injury and reconstruction surgery specifically of the ACL in athletes and female athletes. She is married to Dr. Trent Herda, a Health, Sport, and Exercise Sciences faculty member. They have 2 children, Chandler and Hudson. Learn more about Dr. Ashley Herda in the featured video below.
