As you travel through the Tuscan-Romagna Apennines, you will come across the very spots where the celebrated Florentine poet once journeyed on his route from Florence to Ravenna.

Through time, history, and poetry on the Dante Train. Discover the places where the Florentine poet traveled between Florence and Ravenna, traveling through the heart of the Tuscan-Romagna Apennines.

The panoramas that follow one another on this journey, also known as the Dante Train, will enchant every traveler.

It is also called Dante's Train because it connects Florence, the city where Dante was born, with Ravenna, the city where he is buried.

Is there a reason to opt for a leisurely journey of 1 to 3 days on Dante's Train?

The Dante's Train runs through the heart of the Tuscan-Romagna Apennines. You will discover the lands that Dante Alighieri visited in 1300, on his way between Florence and Ravenna, while in exile. During the journey, the Florentine poet will play the role of an extraordinary — companion — with Beatrice as his guide, played by Riccardo Starnotti and Irene Ibañez Artiles.

Inaugurated in 1893, the new railway line was built with a maximum speed of 100 km/h and an average speed of 70 km/h. The Train covers a distance of 136 kilometers, with 30 tunnels, and reaches almost 600 meters above sea level. The journey lasts 3 hours. It combines famous cities of art and medieval villages surrounded by nature.

After the success of the 2022 season, with almost seven thousand passengers registered, the 2023 season will introduce the Cities of Art cruise as a novelty. It will run during the early June holiday, from Friday 2 to Sunday 4. After the summer break, the Train will return to weekend departures from September to the first of November.

It's not just about finding a trip that fits; there's more to it.

Dante's Train is ideal for a day out with friends or family. It's suitable for people of all ages. For schools, it is perfect and recommended as an educational experience.

Nearby, you can discover both the Vena del Gesso Romagnola Regional Park and the Foreste Casentinesi National Park, each offering a variety of hiking paths for your enjoyment.
