Salesforce CPQ Spring ’21 Release Features

Salesforce CPQ, also known as Configure, Price, and Quote, is a cloud-based sales platform that offers reliable pricing details for various product configuration scenarios. By providing reliable data, CPQ significantly reduces the time required by the conventional sales cycle and increases deal conversion rates.

Salesforce launched the all-new Revenue cloud in 2020, which brings together several Salesforce products such as CPQ and billing, Partner Relationship Management, and B2B Commerce. This enables companies to be more agile in order to speed up and simplify the purchasing process, boost new revenue sources, and increase revenue production.

Six new features have been added to this awesome product with the new Spring ’21 Release. Here are some of the latest features that will make your life easier:

Turn to the Large-Scale Amendment and Renewal Service with Ease

If the field titles on your contracts were too long, you couldn’t move from the Legacy Service to the Large-Scale Service in the previous iteration. You can now complete modification and extension transactions regardless of the length of the field names on your contracts or the service you used.

Continue Working as Contracts are being Modified

Previously, users were unable to function due to the contract amendment process. They had to wait for the procedure to be completed. Users will now continue working in Salesforce while the contract is being amended, thanks to this new update.

The latest option is available in the setup->installed apps->configure area, in which you can deselect the legacy service option and instead use the Salesforce CPQ Large-Scale Amendment and Renewal service.

Event Area for Configurator Evaluation

The Price Rules page layout now includes the new configurator evaluation event area. Since it is part of the New Price Rules dialog, the event field is automatically added. This new functionality will save you time and ensure that users choose the correct value when configuring a price rule.

Contracting Larger Orders in a Shorter Period of Time

When compared to the previous version, the new version allows you to build a contract order of twice as many line items in Salesforce CPQ. However, the total number of line items is determined by the structure of the organization.

New Order Development Permissions

In order to create orders from quotes or opportunities, users must now have Read access to quotes and opportunities, Create and Edit access to orders, and Delete access to order items.

For Contract Amendment and Renewal, a Permission Set Provision was introduced.

When the “Use Legacy Amend/Renew Service” option is deselected, the user who authorizes the Salesforce CPQ calculator should have special permissions. Otherwise, none of the consumers would be able to modify or renew contracts. This modification only affects the Lightning Experience in all Salesforce CPQ versions.

We can see how the latest CPQ features will support certain users significantly. CPQ, like any other Salesforce product, will continue to improve with each release.
